Arsenal is gearing up for a crucial Premier League season as reigning champions for the first time in over two decades. After breaking their long-standing title drought last year, the pressure and expectations are higher than ever for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The excitement surrounding the Gunners is palpable, especially after their impressive display in the Community Shield, where they decisively defeated Manchester City 3-0. This victory has bolstered the confidence of both players and fans alike, signaling that Arsenal is ready to defend their crown.

Several pundits have weighed in on how they believe Arsenal will fare this season. A significant number have placed their faith in the Gunners, predicting that they will finish at the top once again. Former player Alan Smith is among those who foresee Arsenal repeating their triumph, stating, "I've got to go for Arsenal winning it again. Let’s hope."

Martin Keown echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the stability within the Arsenal squad. He remarked, "You can’t argue that these two (Manchester City and Arsenal) are the best two teams in English football. The stability is with Arsenal."

Paul Merson is also bullish about Arsenal's chances, confidently asserting, "I just can’t see anybody stopping Arsenal. They’ll win it quite comfortably. I don’t see a single weakness in them regarding the Premier League." Wayne Rooney shared a similar view, hinting at the potential for Arsenal to dominate the league, stating, "Arsenal have the potential to run away with it."

Steve Bruce and Peter Crouch have also predicted Arsenal to finish first, with Bruce praising their recent signings, including Bruno Guimaraes and Declan Rice, as vital additions to a squad already brimming with talent. Crouch noted the Gunners' strength, suggesting that Liverpool might struggle to challenge for the title this season.

However, not all pundits are completely sold on Arsenal's title defence. Jamie Carragher and Joe Cole foresee Manchester City as strong contenders, with Carragher believing City will reclaim the title. Cole pointed out that City’s manager change could lead to improved performances, suggesting that they are capable of surpassing Arsenal.

Despite this mixed bag of predictions, the general consensus remains positive for Arsenal. As they prepare to kick off their season against Coventry City, the Gunners are not just aiming to defend their title but also hoping to build on their success in the Carabao Cup and Champions League, where they fell just short last season.

With the transfer window still open, there is speculation about potential further reinforcements that could bolster their title challenge. As the season approaches, the stakes are high, and Arsenal is determined to prove that they are not just one-hit wonders but a force to be reckoned with in English football.
