Carlotta Wamser Joins Manchester City from Bayer Leverkusen

Manchester City has made a notable addition to their squad by signing Carlotta Wamser from Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year deal. The 22-year-old full-back, who can operate on both the left and right flanks, is set to bolster City's defensive options as they prepare to defend their WSL title.

Wamser's arrival comes at a crucial time for City, particularly with several key players sidelined due to injuries. Niamh Charles, who recently joined from Chelsea, is among those unavailable, along with Grace Clinton, Vivianne Miedema, Jade Rose, and Laura Wienroither. This makes Wamser's signing a timely boost for the champions as they gear up for their season opener against Birmingham City.

Having made her international debut earlier in 2025, Wamser has already amassed 14 caps for Germany. She is a product of the German youth system and was part of the squad that triumphed in the Under-17 European Championship in 2019, showcasing her potential and skill at a young age.
