Djed Spence Nears Tottenham Exit to Inter Milan

Djed Spence is on the brink of leaving Tottenham Hotspur as Inter Milan is in discussions to secure the England defender for around £25.6 million. This move comes amid increased competition for places at Spurs, particularly following the signing of Andy Robertson from Liverpool.

Spence, who had a notable World Cup campaign, starting four matches including the semi-final against Argentina, has seen his opportunities dwindle. With Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro emerging as the preferred full-backs for manager Roberto De Zerbi, Spence appears keen to pursue a new challenge in Italy.

The 26-year-old defender signed a four-year contract with Tottenham at the beginning of last season, but the current situation has prompted him to consider a move away. Talks between Spurs and Inter are ongoing, and while a fee has not yet been finalized, it is anticipated that the agreement will be only slightly above the £20 million Tottenham initially paid Middlesbrough for Spence in 2022.

In addition to Spence’s potential exit, Tottenham is also dealing with interest in Cristian Romero. However, Romero appears likely to join Atlético Madrid for a fee of €40 million, despite interest from clubs including Arsenal. Meanwhile, Spurs have been active in the transfer market, spending nearly £240 million this summer and solidifying their squad with new signings.
