Chelsea edged Western Sydney Wanderers 6-4 at Accor Stadium in a goal-filled contest that swung repeatedly. D. Satpaev put Chelsea ahead in the sixth minute, but goals from A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond turned the game around before D. Essugo levelled before the break.

D. Scicluna restored the Wanderers’ lead in the 62nd minute. Chelsea responded through J. Gittens, then Joao Pedro took over: he scored in the 80th, 85th and 89th minutes, while A. Lual’s goal for the hosts briefly made it 4-3.

The decisive moment was Joao Pedro’s late burst, which turned a precarious one-goal advantage into a two-goal win. Chelsea showed their attacking threat, but conceding four goals will temper the satisfaction; for the Wanderers, their scoring kept them in contention, yet they could not contain Chelsea’s finish.
