Liverpool Miss Out on Yan Diomande as Real Madrid Reach Transfer Agreement

Liverpool’s summer transfer plans have encountered a major obstacle after target Yan Diomande opted for a move to Real Madrid. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, who featured for his country at the World Cup, had been one of the most sought-after young talents in European football, attracting attention from Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City, alongside Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite heavy interest from across the continent, the RB Leipzig wide player now appears bound for Spain after Real Madrid reached an agreement in principle for his signature.

Escalating Bids and La Liga Destination

Both Liverpool and Real Madrid previously saw bids of €100m turned down by Leipzig. However, the Spanish side pushed ahead with an improved proposal that could rise to €120m, securing an agreement with the Bundesliga club.

Diomande, who had earlier settled personal terms with PSG, is reported to have agreed a five-year contract to join the Santiago Bernabeu outfit. The move comes after Real Madrid explored alternative options, including Bayern Munich's Michael Olise, before turning their full focus to the Leipzig forward. Reports clarify that Diomande's arrival is independent of ongoing speculation surrounding Vinicius Junior, who has been linked with interest from Arsenal.
