Manchester City Faces Uncertain Future Amid 115 Charges, Says Richard Masters

The allegations date back to a period spanning from 2009 to 2018, a time marked by Manchester City’s transformation following the Abu Dhabi United Group takeover. The independent commission, which started its proceedings in September 2024, was expected to deliver a ruling within three months. However, nearly 18 months later, City supporters are still left in the dark, frustrated by the drawn-out process.

Masters, acknowledging the lengthy timeline, stated, "I do accept it’s taking longer than expected, and I understand that people want to find out as soon as possible what’s going on, but I simply can’t provide that." The charges against City include a range of serious allegations. Initially, they were charged with 54 counts of failing to provide accurate financial information during the seasons from 2009/10 to 2017/18. Moreover, five of the charges pertain to breaches of UEFA regulations, particularly regarding Financial Fair Play (FFP) from 2013/14 to 2017/18.
