Chelsea FC is grappling with injury setbacks that could complicate their campaign. Moises Caicedo, a pivotal midfielder, was unable to shake off his fitness issues in time for the clash against Arsenal, a match that ended in disappointment for the Blues. Having already missed the season's opening matches, Caicedo's availability remains uncertain as he races against time to regain full fitness for the upcoming Carabao Cup fixture against Leeds United.

After making a brief appearance against Brighton, where he lasted only 14 minutes, Caicedo was sidelined once again. Xabi Alonso acknowledged the mistake of rushing him back too soon, emphasizing the importance of assessing risk. The latest updates suggest that the Ecuadorian could potentially return on September 12 when Chelsea hosts Hull City, but the club's cautious approach means they will not take unnecessary risks.

In addition to Caicedo's plight, Chelsea's summer signing Marco Palestra also remains unavailable. Initially a regular during pre-season, Palestra has yet to feature in any of Chelsea's matches this season due to an injury sustained in training. He has hinted at a return within days, stating he feels much better, but his lack of recent training images casts doubt on his immediate involvement against Leeds.

Finally, Jordan Henderson, who has been recovering from a broken wrist, is inching closer to match action. After injuring himself in a celebratory mishap following England's World Cup triumph over Mexico, Henderson missed out on crucial training sessions. However, he was spotted in first-team training recently, and Alonso is optimistic about his return to competitive play soon.

As Chelsea prepares for their upcoming fixtures, the absence of these key players poses a significant challenge. The club will be keen to see them back on the pitch as they aim to navigate a demanding schedule and regain momentum in the Premier League.
