Chelsea won a breathless 6-4 contest against Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium, but the scoreline was far from comfortable. D. Satpaev put Chelsea ahead in the sixth minute; Western Sydney replied through A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond, before D. Essugo made it 2-2 late in the first half.

The key moment came after D. Scicluna restored Western Sydney’s lead in the 62nd minute. J. Gittens levelled four minutes later, then Joao Pedro took charge: he scored in the 80th, 85th and 89th minutes to turn a chaotic match into a Chelsea victory. A. Lual also found the net for the hosts in the 78th.

Chelsea’s six goals showed their attacking threat, while conceding four will leave questions about their defensive control. For Western Sydney, three separate leads or equalising efforts could not prevent defeat; their attacking response was impressive, but Chelsea’s late finishing proved decisive.
