Chelsea beat Western Sydney Wanderers 6-4 at Accor Stadium in a breathless game that swung repeatedly. D. Satpaev put Chelsea ahead in the sixth minute, but goals from A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond turned the score around before D. Essugo levelled just before the break.

Western Sydney struck again through D. Scicluna in the 62nd minute, only for J. Gittens to answer four minutes later. A. Lual made it 4-3 in the 78th, but Chelsea finished strongly: Joao Pedro scored three times in the final 10 minutes, including an 89th-minute goal, with C. Palmer assisting his second.

The decisive moment was Chelsea’s late surge after Lual had restored the Wanderers’ advantage. The result showcased Chelsea’s scoring threat, but conceding four goals will temper the satisfaction; Western Sydney, meanwhile, showed they could trouble their opponents before being overwhelmed late on.
