Chelsea won a breathless 6-4 contest against Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium, in a match where neither side could keep the other quiet for long.

D. Satpaev put Chelsea ahead in the sixth minute, but Western Sydney answered through A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond to lead 2-1. D. Essugo levelled before half-time. D. Scicluna restored the Wanderers’ advantage in the 62nd minute, only for J. Gittens to make it 3-3 four minutes later. A. Lual’s 78th-minute goal made it 4-4, but Joao Pedro struck three times in the closing stages—at 80, 85 and 89 minutes—to settle the game.

The decisive spell belonged to Joao Pedro: his late hat-trick turned an open, high-scoring draw into a Chelsea victory. The result gives Chelsea the win, while the four goals conceded underline how much the match swung before their finishing finally made the difference.
