Chelsea won a breathless 6-4 contest against Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium, in a match where neither side managed to keep the other quiet for long. D. Satpaev opened the scoring in the sixth minute, but Western Sydney responded through A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond. D. Essugo made it 2-2 before the break.

The key spell came late. D. Scicluna put Western Sydney back in front in the 62nd minute, only for J. Gittens to level four minutes later. A. Lual struck again for the Wanderers at 78 minutes, but Joao Pedro answered with goals in the 80th, 85th and 89th minutes to complete his hat-trick and settle the game.

The scoreline gives Chelsea the win, but the four goals conceded underline how open the match became. Western Sydney showed they could punish Chelsea, while the late surge from Joao Pedro turned a chaotic contest into a memorable Chelsea victory.
