Marcus Rashford’s long-term future at Manchester United remains uncertain after Barcelona opted against triggering their option-to-buy clause following his season-long loan in La Liga. The 28-year-old forward turned in a productive campaign under Hansi Flick, registering 14 goals and 14 assists across 49 appearances in all competitions to help the Catalan club secure the league title. However, Barcelona instead chose to spend £69.3m on Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, leaving Rashford with two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin believes Tottenham Hotspur should capitalise on the situation ahead of rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, claiming North London could be the ideal environment for the England international to revitalize his career.

Nevin Backs Spurs as Ideal Option

Speaking about Rashford’s current predicament, Nevin highlighted the necessity for the forward to land at a club where he can play regularly and regain a prominent role on the pitch.

While acknowledging potential interest from Chelsea or Arsenal, Nevin suggested Tottenham would offer the best fit. He noted that Rashford could thrive as the primary focal point in Tottenham's system, supported by creative options behind him, which would help secure his standing for both club and country.

De Zerbi Demands Attacking Reinforcements

Nevin’s endorsement comes at a time when Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi has publicly called on technical director Johan Lange to deliver new attacking talent before the transfer window closes.

Following a 2-0 pre-season victory over Auckland, De Zerbi confirmed his intention to add at least a couple of high-calibre players to the front line to support the team's long-term project. With the board aiming to construct a competitive squad, the manager reiterated that Spurs' activity in the transfer market is far from complete.
