Bradley Barcola Agreed Terms With Liverpool as Reds Prepare PSG Opening Bid

Liverpool are preparing an opening official approach for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola as they look to make a major statement under new manager Andoni Iraola. The Reds have drawn up a initial bid following preliminary discussions with the player's representatives, with the 23-year-old having already verbally agreed to move to Anfield.

The Merseyside club shifted focus to Barcola as their top attacking target following the mutual agreement exit of Mohamed Salah earlier this summer.

Complex Market and High Valuation

Landing the French international will require navigating a steep asking price. Reports indicate PSG value the forward at £145m, driven in part by recent high-profile domestic transfers across the Premier League, such as Morgan Rogers' £117m move to Chelsea and Elliot Anderson's £116m switch to Manchester City.

Despite the valuation gap between the two clubs, Barcola is keen to leave the Parc des Princes. He has no intention of extending his contract beyond its 2028 expiration, having grown frustrated after starting consecutive Champions League finals on the bench under Luis Enrique.

Barcola registered 13 goals and seven assists in 49 games for PSG last season before scoring three times in eight appearances during France's fourth-place finish at the World Cup. He has also been a target for Arsenal this summer.

Rebuilding the Anfield Attack

Liverpool's move for Barcola follows a turbulent sequence of summer transfer moves. The Reds previously saw an £85m offer turned down by RB Leipzig for Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, who now appears bound for Real Madrid for over £100m. Liverpool also made an initial approach for Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche, another target subject to multiple bids from PSG.

So far, Liverpool's sole summer arrival under Iraola has been winger Victor Munoz, brought in after triggering his £34.5m release clause at Osasuna.

The squad is currently undergoing pre-season preparations in the United States, which included a friendly victory over Sunderland in Nashville. Iraola took charge following the sudden dismissal of Arne Slot—a sacking that surprised the squad just a year after Slot secured the Premier League title.

Left-back Milos Kerkez, who previously developed under Iraola during two seasons at Bournemouth before his £40m move to Anfield, highlighted the tactical evolution under the new manager.

"He helped me and improved me a lot in the two years I spent with him," Kerkez said. "The gaffer likes to play more with the full-backs down the line, underlapping, overlapping... He showed me that when you do your job then you are free to do what you want."
