Chelsea won a breathless 6-4 match against Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium, in a game that swung repeatedly between the teams. D. Satpaev gave Chelsea an early lead, but Western Sydney replied through A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond. D. Essugo made it 2-2 before half-time.

The key spell came late: after D. Scicluna put the Wanderers back in front in the 62nd minute, J. Gittens levelled four minutes later. A. Lual struck for the hosts in the 78th, but Joao Pedro answered two minutes on and added further goals in the 85th and 89th to complete his hat-trick and seal Chelsea’s win.

Chelsea’s six-goal return showed their attacking threat, while conceding four leaves clear room for improvement at the back. For Western Sydney, scoring four against Chelsea was a notable response, but they could not contain the visitors’ late surge.
