Chelsea came through a chaotic 6-4 win over Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium. D. Satpaev put Chelsea ahead in the sixth minute, but goals from A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond turned the game around before D. Essugo levelled before half-time. The scoring continued after the break: D. Scicluna and A. Lual struck for the Wanderers, while J. Gittens and Joao Pedro answered for Chelsea.

The decisive spell belonged to Joao Pedro. He scored in the 80th minute, added another five minutes later with C. Palmer providing the assist, then completed his hat-trick in the 89th minute to seal the six-goal haul.

Chelsea take the win, but conceding four times will temper the satisfaction. For the Wanderers, their three goals after falling behind showed real attacking threat, though they could not contain Chelsea’s late surge.
