Chelsea won 6-4 against Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium in a match that repeatedly swung between the sides. D. Satpaev put Chelsea ahead in the sixth minute, but Western Sydney replied through A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond. D. Essugo made it 2-2 before the break, and D. Scicluna restored the Wanderers’ lead after the interval.

The key spell came late. J. Gittens levelled for Chelsea in the 66th minute, then A. Lual struck for the Wanderers at 78 minutes. Joao Pedro answered with goals in the 80th, 85th and 89th minutes to turn a tight, high-scoring contest into a Chelsea victory.

Chelsea will take encouragement from their late attacking response, particularly Joao Pedro’s hat-trick. But conceding four goals—and allowing the Wanderers to lead twice—also leaves a clear defensive concern. For Western Sydney, the goals showed their threat; the late collapse proved costly.
