Micky van de Ven Set for New Tottenham Contract as Roberto De Zerbi Reshapes Squad

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi is continuing his active summer overhaul, with the club now turning their attention to securing the long-term future of Micky van de Ven. Spurs are currently working on a new contract for the defender, aiming to provide stability to a backline that is undergoing significant transition.

De Zerbi has already overseen extensive activity in North London, spending more than £200 million while also adding half of his new arrivals via free agency. With central defender Cristian Romero finalizing a move to Inter Milan, Van de Ven is expected to anchor the new-look defence alongside summer recruit Jan Paul van Hecke.

Tottenham's backline will feature several new faces following the arrivals of Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, and Andy Robertson, alongside the return of loanee Luka Vuskovic. In goal, Antonin Kinsky has signed a new deal and is set to start the upcoming campaign as the primary choice. His emergence comes amid interest from Juventus in Guglielmo Vicario, with Martin Dubravka arriving to bolster the goalkeeping unit.

Midfield Reinforcements and Attacking Targets

The squad's major additions include a £185 million investment in midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. Their arrivals put pressure on existing options such as Rodrigo Bentancur, Archie Gray, Conor Gallagher, and Pape Matar Sarr. Meanwhile, Lucas Bergvall has expressed his wish to depart, which could generate extra funds for remaining market targets. De Zerbi will also welcome back James Maddison from a lengthy injury lay-off, with Xavi Simons also in the squad options.

Having bolstered his options across the pitch, De Zerbi confirmed that Spurs are not yet finished in the transfer market, emphasizing the need for additional attacking talent to complete the project.

Spurs are working on a deal for Manchester City winger Savinho, though an official bid has not yet been submitted. Furthermore, Tottenham are monitoring Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored 13 league goals last season, despite the Cherries having no desire to sell the 20-year-old.
