Chelsea won a remarkable 6-4 contest against Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium, in a match that swung repeatedly between the sides. D. Satpaev gave Chelsea an early lead, but A. Pantazopoulos and A. Hammond turned the game around before D. Essugo made it 2-2 before the break. D. Scicluna put the Wanderers ahead again in the second half, only for J. Gittens to level.

The defining spell came late: after A. Lual restored the Wanderers’ lead in the 78th minute, Joao Pedro struck three times—in the 80th, 85th and 89th minutes—to complete Chelsea’s comeback. His late hat-trick turned a breathless, high-scoring game into a Chelsea victory.

The scoreline offers Chelsea an attacking boost, with Joao Pedro’s finishing the standout, but conceding four goals will temper the satisfaction. Western Sydney showed they could trouble Chelsea and lead more than once, yet were unable to hold on as the visitors finished with force.
